BROOCHES AND PINS, MADE IN LOS ANGELES
Pinny Lane makes small brass sculptures you wear: on a lapel, a hat, a bag strap, a denim jacket or a cardigan. Each pin starts as a symbol, a bee, an orchid, a skull, a peace sign, and is made by hand in Los Angeles. Most come in two sizes, small and medium.
BROOCH OR LAPEL PIN?
They are the same object with two names. “Brooch” is the older word, usually for a decorative pin on a coat, blouse or scarf. “Lapel pin” is the small pin on a suit jacket. Every Pinny Lane pin works both ways.
HOW TO WEAR A BROOCH
High on the left side of a coat or jacket is the classic place. A brooch also sits well on a scarf, a collar, a hat band, a bag strap or a cardigan. Two or three small pieces grouped together look intentional.
A GIFT THAT FITS IN A CARD
A pin is small enough to mail in a card and lasts for years. Choose a symbol that fits the person: a rose for the gardener, a tennis racket for the player, a bee for the one who keeps everyone together.
CUSTOM AND BULK ORDERS
Schools, teams, companies, festivals and families order custom pins. The CDA Owl pin was made for Coeur d'Alene Elementary in Venice Beach, and 15% of its proceeds go to the school. Silver, gold and precious stones are available on request.
WHAT THE SYMBOLS MEAN
Every pin page tells the story behind its symbol. The bee stands for hard work and community, the orchid for strength and rare beauty, the frog for renewal and growth.
